The Knysna Extreme is an extreme triathlon and Africa's Toughest triathlon! Extreme Triathlons are by definition held over more extreme courses and potentially have more extreme conditions. With longer and far more challenging courses than a typical long distance. The Knysna Extreme is no different.

The Knysna Extreme is a challenging Point-To-Point, self-supported race that takes place along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route. The course starts with a 5 km swim in the Knysna Estuary, followed by a 174 km cycle through coastal, mountain and semi-desert scenery. That is then finished by a 50 km run through plantations and the Knysna forest. It is a gruelling, yet scenic route that takes triathletes back to the purest form of the sport. The route will test your fitness levels, mental strength and determination.

Each athlete is required to have a supporter to follow them throughout the race, providing all mechanical, nutritional and mental support. With an altitude gain of nearly 3,800m over a total distance of 229 km, the Knysna Extreme is an extreme triathlon that offers an exciting personal challenge for athletes.

Super Early Bird Fee: 1^st December 2022 - 28^th February 2023
Early Bird Fee: valid from 1^st March 2023 - 14^th July 2023
Standard Fee: valid from 15^th July 2023 - 31^th October 2023

Staggered Payments

You can stagger your payment over several months.
The staggered payment option for Early Bird will be avaliable from 1^st March 2023.
The staggered payment option for Standard will be available from 1^st July 2023.

STAGGERED PAYMENTS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Staggered Payments:

Staggered payments are only available for ‘Early bird’ and ‘Standard’ entry options.
An initial deposit is required to secure your entry
The staggered payments are payable as follows:
- Early Bird Staggered Entry:
  - Deposit Payment = R1716 for individual entries and R2284 for Relay teams
  - 2nd Payment = R1717 for individual entries and R2283 for Relay teams, to be paid by 23h59 on 30 April 2023
  - 3rd Payment = R1717 for individual entries and R2283 for Relay teams, to be paid by 23h59 on 15 June 2023
  - Any default on payment or payments that are not received within the above periods will result in cancellation of your entry. Organisers will retain the greater of the initial deposit, of R1716 for individual entries and R2284 for Relay teams, or 50% of entry fees paid by the participant. No late payments will be accepted, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
- Standard Staggered Entry:
  - Deposit Payment = R1916 for individual entries and R2384 for Relay teams
  - 2nd Payment = R1917 for individual entries and R2383 for Relay teams, to be paid by 23h59 on 31 August 2023
  - 3rd Payment = R1917 for individual entries and R2383 for Relay teams, to be paid by 23h59 on 15 October 2023
  - Any default on payment or payments that are not received within the above periods will result in cancellation of your entry. Organisers will retain the greater of the initial deposit, of R1916 for individual entries and R2384 for Relay teams, or 50% of entry fees paid by the participant. No late payments will be accepted, and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.
The 2nd and 3rd payments can be made from the athlete's Easy Reg dashboard.

Please note:

Any additional Easy Reg service fees and/or merchandise bought will be payable in full with the initial payment of the deposit.
